Kindness for the Dead

A Halloween Mystery on Another World . . .

Hades VII is a newly discovered planet that was recently rocked by tragedy.  When a supposed ghost starts to terrorize the community (and the local wildlife) its up to you to solve a mystery that threatens to tear the community apart!

How do we best show Kindness for the Dead?  

This Visual Novel uses a simplified version of the Under a Hostile Sun RPG and can introduce you to key concepts from the game! 

Content Warning: Death, Grief, Ghosts, Ethical Lapses, Violence (not depicted in a graphic way)

Technical Work and story by Gabriel Relich.  Creature drawings and play testing by Blanca.

This visual novel was made for Spooktober 5th Annual Visual Novel Jam.

A cool story! I had a hard time visualizing this setting when I read about it before and this short tale really gives an understanding of what sort of narratives you're supposed to tell within the setting. The visual novel is also a solid choice for a rules-light system, but I could also imagine a sort of management/strategy/base-building game within the setting that leans more into the resource juggling aspect.

Thank you Lunar! Yes I hope this VN (and some other projects down the line) help people see what kind of narratives Under a Hostile Sun can explore.

Some of the strategy of the ttRPG game does depend on a map (do I have the time to run over and collect? Should I just run to safety? Is collecting X worth getting close to the lava pit . . .)

I do have a base-building adventure in progress!! Very excited for that. Will introduce recipes for Components (SS+OO=Acid. Acid+MM= PowerCell)
