Under a Hostile Sun - Molten Chaos (GenCon)

Hello Explorers!  

I am so honored that you chose to try out Under a Hostile Sun at this years GenCon!

How Do I Prepare?

I will be teaching everyone to play at the event, BUT if you want to get ahead, you can read the CoreRulebook in the downloads below.

Do I Need to Make a Character?

I will be bringing 8 pre-gens but if you want to make your own character, go ahead and do so using the rules in the Core Rulebook and link it in the comments below (upload to Google Drive, make public link, share below).  I will review it.  

What Is the Premise of the Adventure?

"Explorers, I am going to need you to resolve a situation that is developing on an obscure mining colony known as Demeter VI.  It appears that several miners have recently been harmed in mining accidents.  Even worse, there are rumors of Moon Mason Bees starting to terraform the planet.  You need to visit the mine, and determine the cause of the recent accidents. Resolve the growing suspicion and unrest amongst the population there.  Do note that this is a Volcanic world, and temperatures are regularly hot enough to melt metal.  If adventuring out of protected life support bubbles you will need to use extreme caution.  

ALERT:  A recent mining accident has trapped several miners, jump to warp immediately as we have no other rescue personnel in the area!"  

What is the System at High Level?

In terms of stats, it is a d20 roll under system.  Each stat however is paired to a planetary resource which we will be tracking using glass beads (if you played pokemon in the 90s its the type of glass beads that were often used as damage counters).  These resources, Molten Minerals, Arcane Algae, Strange Sap, Odd Ore and Helpful Herbs will be the key to making potions (which your characters will discover during play), bribing NPCs and solving problems.  

there is an Opportunity Die being rolled each round while the characters are in a Hostile Environment.  Once a "1" is rolled, your spacesuits begin to fail?

Sound confusing? No worries, the scenario we are playing is designed to teach you as we play.
